Cold Brew in the OC

Hello I’m Devin from Outlined Cloth, I’ve been a Richer Poorer supporter for over two years and I’m here to outline my faves in fashion, food, and travel. (Caution: Expect large doses of coffee.)

IMG_3044-2After living in the high traffic area of Los Angeles for over a decade, my fiancé and I recently passed through the Orange Curtain to live in Laguna. Living the OC/beach life…minus the surfing. Although, I do want to learn how to surf, maybe by the end of the summer. I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, I’d like to share with you a couple of my fave OC spots involving the two things I love—coffee and clothes. First up, a spot near the mission in San Juan Capistrano, Hidden House Coffee.

Located near the train station, the caffeine flows right out of a house. Complete with a porch for customers to hang out. I discovered this spot after hanging with my fave denim making brother duo just down the street at Freenote Cloth. So anytime I’m in the area, I love to shop and stop in to drink some cold brew.

Many of us walk in to a coffee shop to get our daily dose of caffeine, but our experience is what makes it unique. For me, Hidden House is perfect for both work and play. I love to hang out at the communal bar and shoot the shit, sans alcohol. And I also love to get some work done: editing photos, writing and researching. It may seem counterintuitive, but it’s true. For some, the quiet confines of home stimulate creativity. For me, I thrive off the hustle and bustle of a coffee shop. It inspires and distracts me at the same time.

So if you find me at a coffee shop, then join me for a cup. Let’s hang, talk shop, denim or just take in the scenery. Up next, follow Outlined Cloth as I head to one of my fave OC shops for denim and goods, North Menswear in Laguna Beach.
