Hey guys and gals,
Welcome to the Street Style Files. This is a column where I provide assistance to struggling street style subjects by advising them on their sock game. Feel free to take notes.
We all know this dude was way too busy tearing apart the sale rack at Barney’s for the last Palace Skateboards Tee to actually tear apart his Vans, but that’s besides the point. Authentic or not, this guy’s skate-inspired look is almost there. A pair of black Fellows would do the trick. Plus, he wouldn’t have to dodge questions about how often he skates because people will be asking questions about his dope socks, not his questionably torn-up Vans.
I dig this look. I mean, who doesn’t love an all navy blue fit, right? The zippers are cool and the sneakers are subtly fresh. I feel like this guy is on his way to a modern art exhibit where they serve very hip cocktails. That being said, might I suggest a pair of Ray in Grey to round out the look? The grey will keep his outfit very neutral, which all art-exhibit-affected people strive for. And more importantly, the Eames-inspired print will mask the fact that he is just there for the free booze.
The americana vibes emanating off this guy’s gigantic cuffs are just crying out for a pair of socks from our USA Made collection. I know a pair of red Hanami’s would take this fit to the next level. First, the red colorway would play down any crip-related assumptions born from this dude’s blue hankerchief. Always have to stay gang neutral, ya know? Secondly, the Hanami boasts a very japanese-inspired print. This will let everyone know he is serious about his Americana because let’s face it; the Japanese do Americana better than we do.
That’s all for now. Talk Soon.
